Carpet Shampooing in Encino, CA

Does shampooing carpet leave it sticky?

That is the real question. Old-style rotary shampoo used high-foam detergent. Much of it stayed in the pile. Dried soap is tacky, and it grabs dust. The carpet looked good for three weeks, then grayed faster than before. Encapsulation fixed that. The polymer dries to a brittle crystal, traps soil, and vacuums out. On builder plush and olefin Berber in 1970s-2000s condos, that residue question decides everything. Olefin resoils quickly and punishes any leftover surfactant.

We brush shampoo where it earns its place. Traffic-lane graying in postwar tract halls is dry road and hillside grit ground into nylon. Agitation lifts it off the fiber shaft. Then it needs a rinse, not just a bonnet pass.

Some things shampooing will not solve. Filtration soiling (the dark line at baseboards and under doors) is airborne soot filtered through carpet edges by AC. It takes a separate edge treatment, sometimes several passes, sometimes it stays. Pet urine on slab spreads sideways into the pad. Surface cleaning makes ammonia odor worse in summer heat.

Wool and wool-blend broadloom gets pH-controlled chemistry only. High-alkaline shampoo yellows wool and can set dye bleed permanently.

Drying is same-day here most of the year. Closed-up houses still get air movers.
