Upholstery Cleaning in Encino, CA

Upholstery cleaning in Encino homes

Can this fabric even get wet? That is the right first question. Flip the cushion and read the tag code. W means water-based cleaning, S means solvent only, WS allows either, X means vacuum alone. Rayon and viscose blends common in Westside and hillside custom pieces will water-ring and stiffen. We test a hidden seam before anything else touches the piece.

Summer soil here is mostly oil. Sunscreen, body oil, and pool water transfer onto arms, headrests and seat decks. Oily soil does not rinse out with hot water alone. It needs a pre-spray with dwell time, agitation with a horsehair or soft upholstery brush, then a residue-free rinse so the fabric does not re-soil in weeks.

Overwetting is the actual risk, not under-cleaning. Foam cores hold water, and as they dry, dissolved soil wicks back up to the fabric face as a ring. Jute webbing and some frames brown through. Valley air dries fast, but a house shut tight on AC has no airflow. Air movers go on the piece, not just near it.

After fall fire events, smoke odor sits in the foam and the deck under the cushions, not the visible face. Surface cleaning alone will disappoint you there.

Sun-rotted fabric at west-facing glass will not come back. We will tell you that before we start.
